Alison has been a Lecturer and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in Further Education for over 20 years and is now offering her services as a one-to-one specialist teacher and qualified assessor of students with specific learning difficulties.

 

During this time Alison has worked for Weston College, and more recently part time for City of Bristol College and Bristol Dyslexia Centre, teaching and assessing students of all ages.

She was inspired to move into this field when she saw many of her students struggling to make the most of their talents and abilities, because they found it difficult to express themselves fluently. When we are empowered to develop our strengths, we are more likely to grow in confidence and self-esteem and the first step to this, is often understanding our differences.

 

Alison has a current DBS Certificate and is a member of The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS​). 

 

She is based near Bristol and covers the Bristol area, Weston-super-Mare, South Gloucestershire and will conduct the assessment at the location most convenient to you.
